    @StevenLevy Hi! I mounted it... on a Power Mac G4 I bought on eBay, in Mac OS X 10.3. The volumes were visible and contained a single "Trash" folder that was empty - so they were definitely valid! And no other volumes showed up in Disk Utility. They seem legitimately empty.
